Relief Art
The work presents itself not as a traditional painting, but as a “fragment of the mind.” Its irregular support and jagged edges emphasize that the scene is a living shard of thought, emerging from the artist’s memory. The shirt in the foreground, rendered with almost tactile realism, acts as a visual guide, drawing the viewer toward the central bas-relief, where a boat and stylized figures struggle toward salvation in a symbolic ascent.
Artist’s Note
The irregular shape of the support rejects the rigidity of the frame and becomes a mental space. Through this organic form and the use of natural elements, the work dissolves the distance between artwork and viewer, inviting us to enter a collective memory that takes shape as matter, boat, and hope.
